A man who was seriously injured in a multi-vehicle accident in Owings Mills on the evening of Thursday, May 31 apparently had just stabbed a woman, according to Baltimore County Police.
Police were arriving at the intersection of Owings Mills Boulevard and Gwynnbrook Avenue around 8:00 p.m. in response to reports of a stabbing when they received word of a car accident a few blocks away.
They discovered a multi-vehicle accident just 0.7 miles farther south on Owings Mills Boulevard, at the intersection of Crondall Lane. At least five people in various vehicles had been injured. Local police have not yet released the names of any of those injured.
It is not yet known exactly how the accident occurred. However, police do believe that the man who caused the multi-car crash was the same man who stabbed the woman. He apparently then fled the scene by racing down Owings Mills Boulevard.
The woman suffered serious injuries and was taken to nearby Maryland Shock Trauma. The man who stabbed her and then subsequently caused the car accident was seriously injured in the crash and transported to the local hospital as well. Both had life-threatening injuries, and their condition is not known at this point.
The other four people who were injured in the Baltimore County car accident were being treated for non life-threatening injuries.
It is not yet known what relationship the man and woman had or what caused their initial altercation. Baltimore County Police still are investigating the circumstances surrounding the cause of both the stabbing and the multi-car accident.
