One person died and another person was hospitalized on Thursday, March 31, following a head-on collision in Fort Washington, Maryland.
According to Prince George's County police officers, the crash occurred when one driver veered off his side of the road into the path of an oncoming car.
Charlie Bryant, 49, of Temple Hills, was driving a Ford F-150 north along Palmer Road near the intersection of Tucker Road just after midnight. For reasons still unknown, he crossed the center line and collided head-on with a Ford Explorer traveling south on Palmer Road.
Bryant was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police. The driver of the Explorer, a 76-year-old man whose identity has not been released, was considered to be in stable condition at a nearby hospital. His identity was not released because he is considered a witness to the accident.
Police are still investigating the crash, but officials say alcohol and speed are not suspected at this time.
