A two-car Maryland wreck killed one person and injured two.Maryland State Police are investigating a fatal car accident that occurred in the early morning hours of Friday, June 3.

The accident occurred at approximately 2:30 AM along northbound Branch Avenue near the intersection of Surrats Road in Clinton, an unincorporated part of Prince George's County.

Still Many Unknowns in Fatal Maryland Accident
Police who responded to the scene of the crash are still unsure of what caused the accident. Scattered debris littered the accident scene, and the two vehicles involved in the crash were a mass of torn metal.
One person, whose name has not yet been released, was declared dead at the scene.

Two other people were trapped inside their vehicles. One of the injured victims was taken by helicopter to Prince George's Hospital Center and another transported to the hospital by ambulance. Police have not yet released their names, and their physical condition is unknown at this time.

State police shut down all but one lane of northbound Branch Avenue for several hours to conduct an investigation.
